Day 24 - Twas The Night before Christmas

As a child I always loved the poem by Clement Clarke Moore "Twas The Night Before Christmas" So for Christmas eve, I saw no other design more suiting. The poem is quite long so here is just the first four verses in which I based my nail design

"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that St Nicholas soon would be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads.
And mamma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just settled our brains for a long winter’s nap.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a miniature sleigh, and eight tinny reindeer."

I wasn't sure if the sugar plums he was referring to was the fruit itself or sugar plumb Fairies. To be honest I went with sugared plumbs just because it was easier to paint in the small space, either way I think it looks cute. My favorite part of the design is the reindeer wrapping over the two nails, I just wished I had left a little more roon for the sleigh.

Polish: China glaze Unplugged (pinky) Thunderbird (ring) Sugar Plums (middle) Drummer Boy (pointer and thumb)
